Hey! Before I started prototyping anything I sketched out Ideas for LEGO Physics and also made a Must-Have Feature List for this Set. This was important for me. Helped staying focused and not being distracted by too many ideas wandering through my head.

  • Ball Sender & Receiver
  • Directional Change
  • Catapult
  • Sling
  • Flip Flop Routing
  • Looping
  • Rocker
  • Logo on a Domino Field
  • Double pendulum Flag

Hey! The initial thought for this project was neither creating something based on a domino effect nor making a marble run. My first thought was to create something with many physical functions like a crane or an other machine to provide a high playability.

Second I tried figuring out what had the potential to create excitement for a LEGO Set focused on physical play. In Movies things are shortened often. You only have to see a piece of the action and your brain fills in the missing parts. This fact keeps things interesting for the viewer. But there is on exception to this “don’t show everything” rule: It’s fascinating to watch chain reactions or process logic.

Suddenly everything made sense and the idea for LEGO Physics was here.
